Kids Free to Grow Receives United Way of York County 2016 Community Investment

March 2, 2016, Kennebunk, Maine Kids Free to Grow today announced that it has been awarded a one-year grant from United Way of York County totaling $14,200. This investment will support programming of Break the Silence, Nurturing program, Personal Body Safety and the Early Years Parenting Program. Through the mobilization of resources, expertise and funds that support programs focused on the essentials of education, financial stability and health, United Way of York County advances the common good and strengthens the whole community. Thanks to the continued support of many dedicated individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout York County, this year the United Way in investing in 63 community programs that serve children, youth, adults and families.

“Thanks to generosity of many who support United Way’s work throughout the year, we are able to provide continued and much needed support for essential human services across the region.” Noted United Way of York County President &CEO Barb Wentworth. “These important programs support the best start for our youngest citizens, provide healthy foods for children and seniors, engaged youth in meaningful service, and meet basic needs, all critical components of our collective efforts to build an even stronger York County.”

Kids Free to Grow is located in Kennebunk, Maine and the mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect by empowering children and families in York County. Kids Free to Grow serves over 5,000 children and families a year by offering school and community based prevention and parenting education programs.
